We have received the Email from Ranjit Chougule about this acquired Tandou Wines Pty Ltd. Here are the details.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kindly find details herewith of the acquired winery - Tandou Wines Pty Ltd. The acquisition is 100% of the equity of the company that belongs to a parent, Tandou Ltd, a listed entity in South Australia. Our core objectives for the acquisition are broadening the range of Indage wines both in overseas markets as well as India. It also ensures 400% capacity expansion from the current million cases to 4 million cases through a single acquisition. Technology exchange in winemaking and viticulture is also a critical aspect behind the move due to the similarities in both India and South Australia as wine growing regions which will play a key aspect in improving the future of the Indian wine industry. And, finally, it adds to the already positive relationship created with South Australia, specifically the University of Adelaide, which has signed an MOU for cooperation with the Indian Institute of Vine & Wine, promoted by Chateau Indage.

Tandou Wines' "Vine to Wine" philosophy is designed to produce elegant, fruit-driven wines of consistent, premium quality and outstanding character for Australian and international niche markets. The winery is strategically located in the Riverland wine region at Monash, South Australia. This affords easy access to our fruit and that of other growers. The winery is a well equipped facility in a country recognized for innovative practices by winemakers the world over. Its excellent facilities and the traditional skills of our winemakers combine to produce some of the finest examples of Australian wines. At its maximum crush capacity of 21,000 tonnes & with a storage capacity of 27 million liters ( 3 million cases ) the Tandou winery is Australia’s 7th largest producers. The focus, however, is on quality rather than quantity with production of premium quality wines that are quintessentially Australian, as well as superb examples of wines made from alternative grape varieties.

Today’s world is one of constant and increasingly rapid change. There is greater competition and greater demand for instant gratification. People have higher expectations of quality in their lives. Broken Earth was created to meet these expectations. The first offering of branded wines made by Tandou, it is a fitting realization of the company’s goal to provide outstanding wines at affordable prices. The range comprises eight fruit driven wines. They are well crafted with subtle complexities. They have been made to appeal to active, sociable consumers who enjoy discovering new wines and introducing them to friends. The brand name is a reflection of Australia’s arid landscape. It signifies the sense of optimism and renewal provided by new growth on freshly cultivated land. The Broken Earth range comes from a company with a long-term vision. Through innovative growing practices and close relationships with growers, Tandou has established a reliable supply of high-quality fruit. The result is a range of premium wines that offer outstanding value for money.

The concept behind the new export release was to create alternative varietals as well as proven favorites that provide exceptional value for money – vibrant, fruit-driven wines that are well-rounded and suitable for everyday drinking. Comprising four reds and two whites, the Wontanella range is made from premium fruit sourced from Tandou’s vineyards in Australia’s Murray-Darling river basin. The Murray-Darling is Australia’s most important wine-grape growing region. More than half of the fruit used in Australian wines is produced in the area. Occupying the southeast corner of the "island continent", it provides a variety of growing climates and is fed by a river system stretching more than 3,000 kilometers from sub-tropical Queensland to temperate South Australia. It has the lowest average rainfall of any significant Australian wine-grape growing region and its rich, red soils produce fruit for many of the finest examples of Australian wines.
