How to bring 2 cases of wines in India for sampling

    Dear Puneet,

We are the famous Fontezoppa wineries in the Marche region of Italy. We will be coming to India (New Delhi & Mumbai) on 22/06/2009.  We would like to bring two(2) 9 liter cases of wine with us for client tasting. One case will have 12 bottles of 750 ml. We will be bringing 2 bottles each of 6 different types in each case.

We are aware that it is difficult to bring wines in India but we would like to know the fast and hassle-free way of bringing them in India. We will appreciate you guiding us through this.

    Kind Regards,

    Shadab

If your client is a distributor then I would suggest please contact him and they will help to bring it to india.

     Dear Venki,

Thank you for replying, the thing is we don't have any distributors in India at present. We are coming to India to look for new distributors, this will be our first India visit. Could we pay the customs duty on arrival and get them cleared then and there? We will be staying with the Taj group of hotels, we have requested them to use thier license to get the bottles released from the customs warehouse but I'm not too optimistic. Please advice us accordingly.

    Kind Regards,

    Shadaab

Shadaab It is better to use taj group hotels if possible. It is cheaper and less in document work. I will find out the details about directly importing by paying duties. Venki
