My name is Puneet, and I am interested in imorting wines to India from Europe.

I have found certain contacts here who are willing to help me out in the whole procedure.

However, as of now I know nothing on how to how to execute the whole thing from scratch till the end. 

I need to know what is the first step once  i have the wne producers willing to work with me. So, my certain queries are

-: What all licences I need to obtain?

-: because right now I am studying and I plan to come back on completion of my studies, so, how does it go? That I come back to India and start finding the buyers for my wine or how?

-: Apart from the hotels and restraunts, how else can i retail the product?

-: I am reading often, that you recommend people intersted in startin wine importing to touch base with some exporter who knows the know how. So, if I touch base with an iimporter, when I am myself trying to be a wine importer, how does it go?

 I understand every state in India has its own tariff plicies for the alcohol, but should I be required to maintan inventory in all the major cities or inventory is maintained at one place and henceforth send to the requiered destination? who bears the transportation cost?

-: My most important concern is that due to the high tariffs, transportation & other costs, by the time my wine will reach India, it will be touching the price tag of 20+ Euro's. (& much more higher in Five star Hotels) Now, although I know my wine has potential to sell but from your experience do you think people would shell out so much money for trying out new products or will they stick to the good old French, Autralian & Italian wines?

 -: Wine market is growing of course, but does it have room to provide to entrant like to me, who has less or almost no capital?

I would be greatful if you provide answer to my queries, as I have got several meetings lined up with the concerned businessmen her, and before i meet them, I want to have a clear picture and the right facts with me
