On 18 Feb 2006 all the roads led
to hotel Nikko which was hosting “GREAT WINE FESTIVAL”. The main
attraction of the whole evening was the grape crushing event
sponsored by our very own CHAMPAGNE INDAGE.

It was a beautiful evening, nice
weather , weekend and you can see people pouring in to taste
all those beautiful wines. The event was held by poolside and
there were Winemakers from diff parts of the globe. I was
surprised to see wines from Uruguay as it was my first time I
tasted there wines but definitely they were good. Other
participants were Mihcel Gonet from France, Tabali from Chile ,
Ice wine from Canada, E & J from U.S.A., and from South Africa.
Indian presence in this event was represented by Champagne
Indage Ltd.
Evening was kicked off by the G.M.
of the hotel. Guest were by invites only and you can see the
wine connoisseur’s seeing, swirling, sniffing and sipping the
wines and giving their opinions. The wines were very well
complimented by array of pass around snacks and cheese
selection. There was live band playing which added to the
happening evening.
The stealer of the show was the
grape crushing event sponsored by Champagne Indage Ltd. I guess
it was the first time Delhi was witnessed to such an event.
There were two Chantilli queens who started the crushing and
popping of the champagne. Everybody wanted to enjoy this
spectacular visual. The queens invited other people and they
were happily joined by the budding stompers . It was the
traditional way of kicking the harvest in many parts of the
world and we wanted to share the tradition with the Indian
public said Niyati Bhatt (Category Manager) of Champagne Indage.
Champagne Indage wants to make
wine part of culture. We are striving to make wine accessible
to the mass then only we can think of tapping that huge market.
Our brands Riviera, Chantilli ivy are already a rage. We have
also launched “VINO” in pet bottles in Maharashtra, U.P. and
is already talk of the town.
So everybody say cheers for those
people who make an effort to provide us such great opportunities
to enjoy wine.
