Pune, 13 February - International Symposium on Grape
Production and Processing had organize by grape grower's federation of
India. Also Supported by Agriculture ministry, Government of India &
Maharashtra at Baramati. The symposium was Inaugurated by Mr. Sharad Pawar,
Agriculture minister, Government of India, New Delhi. Mr. Balasaheb Thorat,
Agriculture minister, Government of Maharashtra state. Ms. Radha Singh,
Secretary, Agriculture Department, Government of India, Sopan Kanchan,
Convener & Chairman and other important dignitaries of the agriculture Field
from the India and other countries.
For this function the various scientists and exports from twenty two
countries have attended the symposium. The Agriculture Minister, Mr. Pawar
has told, that grape growers from Nashik, Pune, Solapour and various parts
of the Maharashtra as well India has developed special technique for
cultivating the quality grapes. Which resulted in the incremental export of
the grapes to the foreign countries. He also Expressed that the grape
Grover's should adopt the processing of grapes for wine making due to which
the cultivator will get the value addition for their produce.
The Indian wine market should be flourish and there is a scope for
international market. The government of India will take initiative in the
formulating the suitable policies.

Wine Exhibition is the main attraction in the symposium, The wine
manufacturers from the Nashik (Niphad) has received International Excellence
awards for their various wine brands. Progressive grape cultivators from
Nashik district. They have established the grape wine units at Nashik (Vinchur)
Wine park which was specially developed by government of Maharashtra.
The committee formed in the International symposium of grape producers and
processors held namely, Dr. Ben Emmy Bravado (Hibru University), Mr. Lurent
meens (National Wine, France ), Dr. Wolberg Shepher (Grape & Fruit
cultivation Expert, Germany), and Dr. S. D. Shikhamani (Director, Indian
Horticulture Institute, New Delhi). Before the symposium they had visited
the various grape farms and wineries at Nashik and other districts of
Maharashtra.
Specially Sankalp wine established at Nashik wine park has received four
Excellence awards for their `VINSURA ` brands. The category wise awards have
been received are,
Red Wine - `VINSURA ` (First & second),
Rose & sweet wine- `VINSURA ` (Second),
White wine- SULA Wines (First), N. D. Wines (Second),
Rose Wine- Chattu INDAGE (First),
Sparkling Wine- SULA (First), Chattu INDAGE ( Second),
Sweet Wine - SULA (First).
In this occasion the SANKALP wine has received maximum awards for their
brands and has expressed that this unit will be a mile stone for the wine
manufacturers in the Maharashtra.
